The story
Shift-based teams live on their schedules — and they often check them in basements, warehouses and building sites with no signal. Sync needed to be trustworthy offline first, and pretty second.
Architecture
- Shared domain layer. One TypeScript package defines schedules, shifts and rules, used by both the React Native app and the Next.js admin panel.
- Conflict-free sync. Edits made offline are merged deterministically when devices reconnect — no lost changes, no double bookings.
- Weekly builds. TestFlight and Play internal builds every Friday, so the client could test in the field from week two.
The result
Sync went from idea to iOS, Android and web in fourteen weeks, with a 99.9% sync success rate and a 70% drop in scheduling conflicts for pilot teams.
